From time memorial women around the world have yearned for the
perfect skin that is devoid of any hair whatsoever . with the
improvement of science and technology health and beauty care has new
equipments to work with in its endeavor of perfection. One of the
major debated and experimented topics has been the search for
permanent hair removal. The most common misconception is that hair
removal can be permanent using laser therapy. Here permanent is just
a relative word it can mean some thing between a few weeks to a year
but not for eternity. However although with repeated sessions of
laser therapy the diameter and frequency of hair decreases with
time.
Some of the common methods that are
considered close to permanent hair removal are
1.Electrolysis
2.Laser Method
3.Flash Lamps
4 Waxing
1.Electrolysis : Although
the method looks crude its in fact one of the most effective methods
of hair removal. Here a thin thread like metal probe is inserted
into the hair follicle. Through this metal probe an electric current
is delivered into the hair follicle. In this way it causes the
decrease in growth of hair inn particular parts of the body. The
only disadvantage with this method is that it can be painful.
Tedious and expensive.
2.Laser Method : In this
method a laser beam of particular wavelength is made to fall on a
particular part of the body where the hair loss has to occur.the
laser
targets the pigment in the hair and causes damage to the hair
follicle while sparing the surrounding tissue. This method is
normally considered as safe if it is properly executed and that too
under the guidance of a specialist. The hair might grow back within
six months but it is far much lighter in color and finer in texture.
3.Flash Lamps : In this
method an intense beam of pulsed light is delivered from a hand
piece into the skin. This as a result leads to the damage of the
hair follicle. It has delivered fairly successful results, but has
been found to be ineffective on unpigmented hair, and even on red
and blonde hairs.
4.Waxing : This is one of
the most common forms of hair removal as practiced by people
nowadays specially women. In this process a cream is applied over
the body and that cream is rubbed off after a particular interval of
time and along with the cream the hair goes off too. However the
hair goes back again after an interval of time but to a far more
lesser extent. Repeated layers of waxing eventually ends up in total
hair loss.
